Job Path supports autistic people and people with developmental disabilities as they make choices about their lives and play valued roles in their communities. The goal is to assist the person to lead a full and active life by helping them find employment, engage in community activities, or pursue other life goals. The Supported Employment program is integral to the long-term success of people on the job.
Location requirements : two days per week in Job Path's Midtown Manhattan office with travel around the city to develop employment and support people on the job. A hybrid remote option is available on non-office / support days.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support to a caseload of ten to fifteen people in our employment program
- Develop strategies for participants to build work skills and complete tasks independently
- Help people address on-the-job issues through creative problem solving
- Encourage participants to learn new skills to grow at their jobs
- Develop positive relationships with participants' coworkers, supervisors, and managers
- Work with employers to ensure their satisfaction with Job Path services
- Assist people to grow in their careers, including skill building, advocacy, and job development
- Attend team meetings, trainings, contribute new ideas, and maintain communications with supervisor(s)
- Maintain ongoing communication with families and with network supports (e.g., Care Managers)
- Be flexible and available to provide support as needed, including occasional weekends or outside standard work hours
- Provide training and guidance to Direct Support Professionals supporting your caseload
Documentation and Billing
Complete a daily hours chart to document all services providedSubmit detailed case notes for all billable services daily into the electronic record-keeping systemComplete a monthly summary detailing services provided and progress for each person on the caseloadAttend Life Plan meetings twice a year and contribute to the Staff Action PlanQualifications
BA degree preferred or a combination of high school diploma / equivalency and related experience; experience supporting people with developmental disabilities is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with administrative work and record keepingAbility to communicate effectively with internal and external partnersActive listening and collaboration skillsComputer literacy (Google Workspace, spreadsheets, web-based case notes)Ability to document records in accordance with program and OPWDD mandatesExcellent networking skillsSalary and Benefits
Salary : Annual salary of $43,000–$45,000 depending on education and experience; eligible for overtimeBenefits : Health, dental, and vision insurance; short and long-term disability, life and AD&D; EAP; pre-tax commuter and medical plans; 403(b) with 5% employer match after two years; generous vacation policyHow to Apply
