Responsibilities Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 10 L&D beds, 4 OB ED / triage beds, and 4 antepartum rooms Primary patient population includes high-risk and low-intervention pregnant patients, antepartum, OB triage / ED, postpartum, and infants Unit provides care supported by a Level 3 NICU, accepting a wide range of risk factors and complications Patient ratios include 1 : 1 in active labor, 1 : 2 inactive labor, 1 : 3 antepartum, and 1 : 3 couplets postpartum Must be willing to work both Labor & Delivery and postpartum / couplet care throughout the contract 12-hour variable shifts required, with both night and day shifts scheduled during the contract Weekend shifts required every other weekend Holiday coverage required as needed No on-call obligations Utilizes Epic EMR system Scrub color is cobalt blue, provided by the hospital Free parking available Floating may be required within women's services Will work as part of a team including charge nurse, OB physician team, anesthesia / CRNA, respiratory therapy, unit secretary, scrub technician, and VAT team support Initial orientation includes four days with a preceptor : three in L&D and one in postpartum Must be comfortable caring for couplets and working in both Labor & Delivery and postpartum settings First-time travelers are welcome to apply RTO requests require manager approval No local travelers accepted, must reside outside a 100-mile radius Requirements Active SD or compact RN license required Completion of a board-approved nursing education program Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery experience, preferably in a Level 3 or higher L&D unit Ability to care for high-acuity labor, including preeclampsia, preterm labor and delivery, and antepartum patients under 35 weeks gestation Current BLS and NRP certifications required Epic EMR charting experience preferred, or manager approval required if lacking Certification in inpatient obstetrics, electronic fetal monitoring, or inpatient antepartum preferred Highly preferred to have Level 2 nursery baby experience Must perform IV starts, cervical assessments, phlebotomy, magnesium sulfate and blood administration, insulin administration, circulate C-sections, and recovery care Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-613514.
