Radiology Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract

Location : Rochester, New York

Assignment Details :

  • Duration : 13 weeks
  • Hours : 40 guaranteed hours per week
  • Setting : Fast-paced Pre / Post Interventional Radiology Department
  • Facility : Level 1 Trauma Center
  • Population : Inpatient and outpatient across the lifespan

    • Position Overview :

    Join an exciting, high-energy team in the Diagnostic Imaging department at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Rochester, NY. This 13-week contract offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team caring for patients undergoing advanced imaging and interventional radiology procedures. The Radiology RN will provide pre-procedural preparation, post-procedural recovery, and 23-hour observation care for interventional radiology (IR) patients, including those boarding overnight.

    Experience with GI post-procedural care is preferred but not required. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and possess strong communication and critical thinking skills, this role is an excellent fit.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide nursing care for patients before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures
  • Manage 23-hour observation care for patients boarding pre / post procedure
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Monitor patients closely for post-procedural complications and respond promptly
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures such as CT scans, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, X-ray, and ultrasound
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation
  • Educate patients and families about procedures and post-care instructions

    • Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 2 years Registered Nurse experience in Interventional Radiology or related field
  • Telemetry experience required
  • Valid New York State RN license (ONLY)
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Medical / Surgical and telemetry nursing experience preferred

    • Certifications Required :

  • BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
