Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position with night shifts, floating requirements, and Epic EMR experience in Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Medical / Surgical Telemetry unit with some surgical and burn patient care
  • Night shift schedule : 3x12-hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30
  • Call is required on this assignment
  • Required to float to different units within the organization as needed
  • Patient assignments may vary based on staffing and unit needs
  • Epic EMR experience is required
  • Will be responsible for starting IVs, administering medications, drawing labs, and providing patient education
  • Must be flexible with working every other weekend and additional weekends as needed
  • Urgent completion of Ohio fingerprinting required after booking
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • Former employees must have at least a 6-month break before returning as a traveler
  • Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this organization
  • RTO (requested time off) must be submitted during the application process

    • Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Tele experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • Strong IV skills including IV starts, lab draws, medication administration, and patient education
  • Experience with burn or surgical patient care is preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Previous travel nursing experience is preferred but not required
  • Must provide two professional references, including one from a supervisor or charge RN
