Key responsibilities include operating laboratory instrumentation, maintaining quality control, and ensuring accurate test results. The MLT must utilize scientific principles and technical aptitudes to distinguish between normal and abnormal clinical laboratory parameters, alerting staff to abnormal results, and documenting actions.
Effective communication with departments and individuals is essential in this role, as is participating in the development of protocols, lab manuals, and new instrumentation. Additionally, the MLT will provide training to new employees and contribute to the team's overall success.
