Limited Positions - Now hiring Level 4 Special Education Paraprofessionals - School Based for the 2025–2026 school year.
We’re hiring Level 4 Special Education Paraprofessionals (classroom aides / behavioural support aides) for the 2025–2026 school year in Northeast Saint Paul and Rosemount.
Candidate must be comfortable with :
- Working in a Setting 4 Special Education program for students requiring more support than general education classrooms can provide
- Providing personal care assistance (diapering, toileting, feeding)
- Managing unexpected behaviors such as biting, hitting
- Supporting students in a hands-on environment
- Remaining patient, empathetic, and resilient in a high-demand setting
Experience (preferred, not required) :
A background in education is not required, what matters most is your comfort and confidence supporting students with high-level needsPrior experience working with children in a structured setting is an assetPreferred experience in group homes, healthcare, camps for children with disabilities, or providing family support is also highly valuedSome paid training is provided during onboardingKey Responsibilities :
Assist special education teachers in implementing academic adaptations and individualized education plans (IEPs).Work with students individually or in small groups to support their self-care and social / behavioral needs.Maintain a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning.Provide timely support for students in crisis situations.Utilize a variety of learning methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.Personal care assistance, including diapering and toileting, will likely be requiredAbility to handle unexpected behaviour (biting, hitting) is requiredMust-Have Qualifications
Education :
60 college credits or higher, OR one of the following :A passing score on the Paraeducator Assessment (65% or higher on the Instructional Support test and 70% or higher on the Knowledge and Application test)A passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment (combined score of 460 or above)Preferred Qualifications
Paraeducator Certification (upskilling options provided on a case-by-case basis for candidates without the standard educational background)Behavioral Technician or PCA experience working with children is an asset.Past work experience in a school setting with children with special needs is an asset.Language & Authorization :
Professional proficiency in English.U.S. Work Authorization (Zen Educate cannot provide sponsorship for an employment visa or relocation assistance).Salary & Benefits
Salary : $21 - $23 per hour, paid weekly.
Schedule : Monday to Friday, within hours of 7 : 30 am - 3 : 00 / 4 : 30 pm (no weekend work).
