Salary Expectations : $29.81 to $36.06 per hour ($62K - $75K annually) - Overtime Eligible

Position Summary

The Project Designer (Auto) will assist or lead sales team members in the design and specification of assigned projects for clients in the Auto Dealership industry. Responsibilities include programming, design concepts, space planning, furniture specifications, site visits, and installation drawings. The role involves close collaboration with sales, project coordinators, project managers, and installation teams to ensure a positive client experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist or lead in auto dealership design and specifications with minimal direction.
  • Support sales and design team in client presentations.
  • Ensure accuracy of drawings and specifications before presentation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of design trends and product applications.
  • Prepare and present design contracts, and mentor team members.
  • Develop programming reports, conduct site reviews, and produce as-built drawings.
  • Create space plans, select finishes, and develop product specifications.
  • Manage project documentation, schedules, and budgets.
  • Conduct field reviews during / after installation.
  • Communicate project status regularly and ensure plans are order-ready.

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior, Industrial, or Architectural Design.
  • 4+ years' experience in furniture / office / space planning, preferably in a dealership setting.
  • Knowledge of building codes for furniture design.
  • Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and specification software.
  • Experience with 20 / 20, Bluebeam, Sketchup, Configura is preferred.
  • Other Skills

  • Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of systems furniture and millwork.
  • Ability to work under pressure and travel up to 10%.
  • Work Environment & Physical Demands

    The environment is moderate noise, and physical demands include sitting, reaching, talking, occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
