Neighbors Heating and Cooling in Ames is looking for a HVAC Service Technician to join our mid-sized, locally owned, and operated team. What We Offer

Pay : $23+ / hour, DOE

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 7 : 45 AM–5 : 00 PM (some seasonal overtime)

On-Call Rotation : Technician-designed, typically one weekend per month and one day per week.

Take-Home Van and iPad Provided for ticket and timecard processing

Training & Licensing

We are a DOL-licensed training center through CEU Authority.

Current apprentices can transfer ongoing schooling into our program seamlessly.

Experienced but unlicensed workers are eligible for paid initial tuition through our apprenticeship program, repaid through the tool account and successful progress in schooling.

What We're Looking For

Minimum 1 year of HVAC experience

High school diploma or equivalent required

Journeyman HVAC license or ability to become licensed through our DOL program

Valid driver's license and insurable driving record

Regular, reliable attendance

Key Responsibilities

Perform thorough maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on all types of HVAC equipment (furnaces, A / Cs, boilers, heat pumps, geothermal, mini-splits, and rooftops).

Accurately diagnose issues and identify potential failures before they occur. - On the job training provided on diagnostics by senior technicians.

Communicate clearly and professionally with customers.

Maintain accurate records, complete service tickets, and collect payment when required.

Keep company vehicles and tools clean, stocked, and in good condition.

Work safely in a variety of environments, including crawl spaces, ladders, and outdoor conditions.
