About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and licensed Special Education / Diverse Learner Teacher to support students in grades K8 in the Avondale area. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing individualized support in both push-in and pull-out settings. With an average caseload of 20 students, you will work closely with general education staff to ensure students receive the targeted interventions they need for academic and personal success.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction and support services to students with IEPs, focusing on literacy (fluency and comprehension) and foundational math skills.
- Deliver services through push-in and pull-out models, adapting instruction to meet each students needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Collect and analyze student performance data to inform instruction and demonstrate progress.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to support student success and inclusion.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, services, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree (Masters preferred) in Special Education or a related field.Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist license or eligibility to obtain.Experience supporting students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Developmental Disabilities (DD) preferred.Strong skills in reading instruction, comprehension strategies, and foundational math intervention.Knowledge of evidence-based practices in special education and inclusive instruction.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
