Controller

Controller will coordinate and manage daily general accounting functions in project accounting in construction industry. This position manages tight deadlines, competing priorities and a full range of accounting activities including general ledger, financial reporting, variance analysis, year-end and internal audit support, Sarbanes-Oxley documentation / compliance, physical inventory counts, and support of budget and forecast activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Oversee finance and accounting for the Ohio / Michigan locations.
• Weekly financial forecasting and monthly reconciliations
• Review projects to determine proper revenue recognition for weekly forecast
• Monthly close by day 2.
• Prepare journal entries and manage standard costing, labor rates, overhead allocations, prepayments, accruals
• Monthly variance analysis
• Deliver accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting to corporate including year end supplemental financial and tax schedules
• Annual operating and capital budget preparation
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley procedures and support quarterly testing.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Coordinate and manage annual physical count of all inventories including reconciliation to the G / L balances.
• Solid knowledge and experience of job costing, WIP (Work-in-progress) schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting and retention billing.
• Annual fixed asset physical, and maintenance of fixed assets including depreciation in FAS Sage
• Lease accounting in Costar
• Sales & Use tax filings

Qualifications :

Compensation : Salaried. Salary Minimum : $70,000. Salary Maximum : $120,000. Incentive : No.
