About the Role

Our Company is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Credit Strategy Data Scientist to join our Credit Risk Strategy team. This role is ideal for a data-driven professional with experience in fintech or the online payments industry. You’ll be responsible for leading initiatives to assess credit risk, design mitigation strategies, and develop data-driven solutions that drive responsible growth and minimize loss.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and optimize credit risk strategies using data science techniques

Design and implement rules to identify and mitigate credit losses

Conduct root cause analysis on emerging risk cases and trends

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Product, Engineering, and Risk to implement effective controls

Build dashboards and reports that clearly communicate performance metrics and strategic insights

Analyze large-scale datasets to identify patterns, assess performance, and guide decision-making

Present findings and strategic recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Support real-time credit decisioning systems using predictive analytics and rules-based logic

Must-Have Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Mining, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

Minimum of 3 years of experience in risk analytics, data science, or data analysis within the fintech or online payments industry

Proven experience solving complex business problems using statistics, data science, and predictive modeling

Advanced proficiency in SQL , Python , and Excel, including core data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)

Hands-on experience working with large datasets in production environments

Strong experience in developing dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Tableau

Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate analytical insights into actionable business strategies

Familiarity or experience working with AWS , payment rule systems, and credit-related financial products is highly desirable

What You’ll Achieve in 6–12 Months

Launch dashboards and reporting tools to track KPIs and performance of credit risk strategies

Collaborate across teams to design, implement, and refine real-time credit models and rules

Proactively analyze data to detect loss patterns and enhance decision-making systems

Deliver insights and business recommendations to leadership, supporting risk control and customer experience goals

Interview Process

Initial Screening – At-home assignment

Technical Interview – With a senior member of the Credit Strategy team

Panel Interview – With the hiring manager and additional team members

Team Environment

Team size : 5

You’ll work closely with a senior analyst during onboarding

Strong focus on reporting , visualization , and data storytelling
