Overview Automotive Content Editor (freelance) role at Jerry. Jerry’s platform helps drivers care for their cars by comparing insurance and guiding smart vehicle maintenance. We’re seeking a detail-oriented editor to uphold quality as we grow our library of expert car repair and maintenance content.

What You’ll Do Edit and proofread articles (typically 800–1,500 words) on car repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance, ensuring technical accuracy and readability.

Simplify complex automotive concepts for non-technical readers.

Enforce Jerry’s style guide, SEO best practices, and editorial standards for consistency across content.

Check factual details against reputable sources and manufacturer recommendations.

Provide constructive feedback to writers to improve content quality.

Collaborate with the editorial team to maintain our voice and prioritize content updates.

About You Strong automotive knowledge : comfortable fact-checking repair processes, maintenance intervals, and parts terminology (former mechanic, service advisor, or long-time auto writer / editor are common backgrounds).

Editorial expertise : experience editing automotive content for digital publications, manuals, blogs, or consumer guides.

Digital savvy : familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress) and understanding of SEO fundamentals (keywords, headers, metadata).

Excellent communicator : can polish technical drafts into engaging, reader-friendly content.

Detail-driven & deadline-reliable : spot inconsistencies and ensure accuracy and completeness, meeting deadlines.
