This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland based on business needs.
The primary focus should be on IT software, but experience in hardware, telecom, data, or IT services will also be considered. The ideal candidate will have proven ability to develop and execute full end-to-end category strategies, including spend analysis, market research, sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier management.
Department Overview
The Procurement organization is the functional lead for the procurement of materials and services at the client. The department collaborates with internal clients and suppliers managing more than $12 billion of annual company spend to develop mutually beneficial total value solutions for goods and services. The department provides the following services to internal clients : procurement of goods and services, strategic sourcing and cost savings, category management, supplier relationship management, execution and outreach, compliance management, ongoing procurement field support and management of the source to pay cycle.
Position Summary
The Manager, IT Procurement drives the client experience by developing and leading effective Strategic Sourcing strategies and effective Category Management and contract execution, contract and overall contract governance. This position supports the portfolio s goals through transactional awareness to identify potential cost savings, diversity, green supply chain, spend reduction, supplier consolidation, and standardization opportunities. This position identifies opportunities for efficiency within corporate and sourcing policies and processes to improve results for both Sourcing and Portfolio clients. The Manager, IT Procurement leads multiple spend categories within a portfolio. This position drives category management strategies with their team and influences key stakeholders to become trusted business advisors.
Client is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in client's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Reporting Relationship
The Manager, IT Procurement will report to the Senior Director, Indirect & Corporate Services Strategic Sourcing.
Job Responsibilities
Develops strategic portfolio and category plans to generate cost savings, deliver service excellence, optimize diversity spending and total cost of ownership for key lines of business.
Ensures the overall governance of the contract approval process from contract creation through contract award.
Oversees contract spend across multiple spend categories
Develops short- and long-term strategies for all spend categories within portfolio
Leads complex cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic sourcing initiatives
Manages spend analysis, needs assessment, benchmarking and business case development
Leads development and execution of negotiation strategies
Monitors and maximizes customer satisfaction using standardized client service level agreements
Manages continuous improvement-based relationships that deliver mutually beneficial results for
Establishes service level agreements to hold suppliers accountable for performance
Approves purchase orders and contracts from $500,000 to $10 million
Directly supervises Sourcing Supervisors, Category Leaders and Sourcing Specialists.
Background Qualifications
Minimum
Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience required (one year of experience for every one year of college)
8 years of total sourcing or related industry experience; some positions may require technical / category experience
Ability to lead cross-functional teams
Ability to identify and resolve problems and implementation barriers
Demonstrated leadership and management skills
Desired
MBA or equivalent advanced degree
Project Management experience, Utility industry experience
Demonstrated category management and procurement transformation experience
2-3 years of supervisor experience
SAP / SRM proficiency
