ER RN Job Details – Plattsburgh, NY

Location : Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (Northern New York healthcare jobs)

Facility : Emergency Department, Level III Trauma Center

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing (ER RN travel jobs)

Start Date : November 10, 2025

End Date : June 21, 2026

Duration : 32 weeks

Shift : 12-hour night shifts

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2200-$2360

Patient Population : Neonate to geriatric (adult and pediatric emergency nursing)

Documentation System : EPIC

Orientation : 24 hours for 13-week contracts

Dress Code : Navy blue or white scrubs, closed-toe shoes

Weekend / Holiday Requirements : Every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays

Transportation : Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (no public transportation)

ER RN Qualifications

Active New York RN license or proof of application (New York nursing jobs)

Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in Emergency Room nursing

Minimum 1 year of specialty experience as an ER RN

Current certifications : AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS (or ENPC equivalency), TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale

Recent experience with EPIC documentation system (within past 2 years)

Ability to manage nurse-patient ratios of 1 : 5 or higher in a fast-paced emergency department

Strong IV and EKG skills; able to manage own respiratory treatments

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Reliable transportation and ability to adapt to winter driving conditions in northern New York

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages

Manage patient assignments, including boarded, psychiatric, and COVID patients

Initiate and manage IVs, perform EKGs, and administer respiratory treatments

Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary healthcare staff

Accurately document all care in EPIC

Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards

Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical education

Adhere to strict professional standards, including zero tolerance for cell phone / earbud use while working
