Nocturnist Physician

CareNational is seeking an experienced Nocturnist for a full-time, on-site hospitalist position in Northridge, CA . This opportunity offers a competitive salary, structured scheduling, and the chance to join a dedicated inpatient care team.

We are looking for physicians with at least 5 years of recent Nocturnist experience who thrive in a hospital-based environment and are committed to high-quality, patient-centered care.

7pm 7am 7-on / 7-off schedule

On-site role with call coverage rotation (1 weekend per month, plus 1 holiday annually)

Collaborative hospitalist group with case management and medical director support

Responsibilities

Respond to radio pages or cell phone calls within 20 minutes, ensuring timely communication with clinical teams

Conduct daily patient rounds by 11 : 30 a.m. , including weekends and national holidays

Evaluate and initiate management orders on all new admissions within 1 2 hours

Document orders for established inpatients by 9 : 30 a.m. daily

Participate in daily telephonic physician rounds with the senior case manager / medical director, presenting patient updates and disposition plans

Oversee consultations, diagnostic testing, and discharge planning

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and quality standards

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited medical school

Board Certified (current) or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or related specialty

Active and unrestricted California medical license

Current Federal DEA registration

Minimum 5 years of recent Nocturnist experience preferred

Strong clinical judgment, time management, and communication skills
