Licensed Pathologist Assistant – Join a High-Impact Diagnostic Team

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and formally trained Pathologist Assistant to join our fast-paced laboratory team. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced pathologists and contribute directly to specimen analysis and diagnostic accuracy.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform all gross room duties, including specimen dissection and block preparation
  • Ensure accurate handling and processing of reference laboratory specimens
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to specimen receipt and documentation
  • Capture and label specimen images using photography software and proper camera settings
  • Conduct frozen sections and special studies in line with laboratory protocols
  • Assist pathologists with specimen preparation, staining, and cover slipping
  • Accurately accession, bill, and label specimen containers and requisitions
  • Organize and complete daily assignments efficiently, supporting frozen section room operations
  • Participate in departmental and cross-functional meetings as needed
  • Describe, dictate, and dissect all surgical specimen types with precision
  • Enter required data into Histology logs using laboratory software
  • Evaluate test requisitions and select appropriate samples for decalcification and submission

What We’re Looking For :

  • Licensed Pathologist Assistant with formal training and certification
  • Strong technical proficiency and familiarity with lab software systems
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a clinical setting
  • Resourceful, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy

    Shift : Monday-Friday with rotating weekend and holiday! 730am-330pm, 330pm-1130pm, 1130pm-730am

    Requirements :

  • Valid NYS LPN License
  • Prior experience (6 months) in nursing home or rehabilitation setting
  • Compassionate and patient-focused attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $44.00 - $44.00 / hr.

    Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
