Job description
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the safe handling, storage, and shipping of hazardous materials. This role is responsible for
- generating dangerous goods shipping documentation, coordinating with freight forwarders and carriers,
- preparing dangerous goods declarations, and ensuring full compliance with domestic and international transportation
- regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience handling chemical products, including hazardous materials,
- and working knowledge of applicable shipping and safety regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Generate accurate shipping labels, bills of lading, and export documentation for domestic and international shipmentsCoordinate shipments with freight forwarders and parcel services, (e.g., Fedex, UPS, DHL), ensuring timely pickups and deliveriesPrepare and review Dangerous Goods Declarations (DGDs) in compliance with IATA, DOT, OSHA, and RCRA guidelinesClassify, package, and label hazardous materials according to applicable regulatory standardsMonitor and track all outbound shipments, resolving delays or discrepancies proactivelyMaintain detailed and accurate shipping records in ERP systems and ensure all documentation is audit-readyEnsure compliance with company policies and regulations governing the transportation of chemicals and hazardous materialsWork closely with warehousing, customer service, production, and quality teams to ensure safe and compliant logistics operationsPerforms additional duties as required.Performs all duties in accordance with established safety guidelines.Physical Demands :
Able to tolerate temperature extremes for moderate amounts of time and stand for extended periods.Able to lift 40 lbs. to chest height.Minimum Qualifications :
Education : High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience :
Current or prior IATA / DOT / OSHA / RCRA certification for handling and shipping of dangerous goodsExperience working with third-party logistic providers and freight forwardersUnderstanding of chemical product labeling (GHS, SDS) and environmental regulationsFamiliarity with import / export compliance and international trade documentationOther :
Must possess good computer and customer relation skillsMust possess strong attention to detailMust pass pre-employment physical to include vision, grip strength testing, and lift 40 lbs. to chest height
