Responsibilities Position is in a Level IV Neonatal ICU (NICU) at a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center 26-bed unit caring for critically ill newborns and infants with complex medical and surgical needs Day and night 12-hour shifts available (7 : 00am-7 : 30pm or 7 : 00pm-7 : 30am), with 2-3 weekends required per 6-week scheduling period Travelers are first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations within the organization as staffing needs require Patients include infants requiring advanced diagnostic, post-operative, and respiratory support, including trach / vent and g-tube management EPIC EMR system is used and experience is required Care for newborns and infants across the continuum, including those requiring invasive / noninvasive ventilation, post-surgical management, and family-centered care Team environment features pediatric specialists and faculty support First-time travelers may be accepted in some units Orientation typically lasts one week and includes specific unit-based training Pass / fail telemetry test must be passed before starting; limited attempts permitted, with a remediation process available Weekend and some holiday work required Facility does not accept local travelers within a 50-mile radius Requirements Active Wisconsin or compact RN license required and must be in hand at consideration Current BLS, PALS (American Heart Association only), and NRP certifications required Minimum two years recent acute care RN experience, with at least one year in a Level IV NICU or Level III NICU with surgical and trach / vent management Basic arrhythmia and telemetry experience required, including ability to pass a telemetry examination prior to start EPIC EMR charting experience required Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-621543.
