job_description.job_card.job_descriptionContributes to the day-to-day operations and long-range planning of the company coordinating with the Business Unit Vice President. Utilize assigned resources to profitably grow the product line revenues. and product offerings within the sector. Co-ordinate with the Business Unit Vice President to prepare for executive approval an annual fiscal year business plan which identifies projects, programs, products, customers, revenues and margins on a month-by-month basis, along with revising the plan quarterly to reflect current circumstances Report performance against the approved fiscal year business plan each month, explaining variances and presenting recovery plans for exceptions Maintain close liaison with existing customers, so as to promote customer satisfaction and foster new business opportunities Identify and develop new business opportunities and potential customers; devise strategies to capture identified opportunities; direct the preparation of solicited and unsolicited proposals. Verify cost estimates and justify same to executive Analyze lost business opportunities. Recommend corrective action to avoid future recurrence Direct and monitor project teams in the management of the product line, with particular emphasis on customer satisfaction, profitability, schedule and cash flow Administer subcontracts with customer and suppliers Attend monthly executive project reviews for projects within the sector of the business unit Ensure that each project has adequate resources to accomplish the work Resolve resource deficiencies in consultation with the Business Unit Vice President and with the functional department vice presidents Monitor the performance of each project against its technical, cost, and schedule objectives. Ensure that recovery plans are established for identified performance shortfalls Provide guidance and supervision to project managers, including the in the preparation of schedules and budgets, internal, and external reporting Maintain close collaboration with project controls, finance teams, project managers, and senior leadership to ensure effective project management Liaise with functional departments to ensure that technology development meets the requirements of solutions and products within the business unit Internal controls must be in place to ensure the Company's financial information presented by the Corporation is complete, timely and accurate. Calian's management has the responsibility to ensure its systems and processes are designed to support the achievement of the Company's overall business objectives. You understand and follow Corporate Policies and Procedures, which relate to the system of internal controls. Specifically : Corporate Policies CO-009 Internal Controls, CO-013 Treatment of Concerns, and CO-002 Public Disclosure You understand and follow all Financial Policies and Procedures for the division You understand and follow Calian's Guide to Ethical Business Practices You communicate as required the above Policies and Procedures to your staff You disclose to the Business Unit Vice President ALL NEW SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENTS in project status and projects in the pipelines IMMEDIATELY as they occur Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 10+ years experience working in a technical project-centric environment Experience and proficiency in writing technical documents Proven experience in people management, strategic planning, and risk management Very proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project Demonstrate ( e.i. soft skills) A clear sense of urgency to achieve results.A "can-do", "let's make it happen" attitude and a focus on a positive customer experience Ability to develop business acumen to be able to translate business needs into technology solutions Leads continuous improvement while focusing on relationship building and service excellence Demonstrated ability to develop and execute projects, including securing repeat business from satisfied customers Flexibility and calmness in dealing with managing multiple priorities simultaneously with a track record of creativity and innovation in problem solving Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management Must be able to gather, prioritize and simplify complex information skillfully in terms for appropriate audience Ability to think proactively, critically and independently to make good decisions Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience communicating effectively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels within the organization
