The Fire Division Department Applications ad Database Specialist is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the daily operations of the Fire Division's Records Management System (RMS) and related applications. This position ensures data integrity, system functionality, and user support for both the Fire Division and Volunteer Fire Departments (VFDs) contracted by the County. The Systems Administrator also manages the Division's Document Management System, performs quality assurance on fire and EMS reports, and develops data-driven reports to support operational planning, analysis, and grant funding.
This position serves as the technical lead for the Fire Division's RMS, providing high-level database administration, user management, troubleshooting, and statistical reporting. The Systems Administrator works closely with Fire Division staff, VFD Chiefs, and the Fire Commission, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting. The position also serves as Secretary to the Forsyth County Fire Commission, responsible for maintaining official records and meeting documentation.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field, supplemented by relevant experience in statistical reporting and database management; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with public safety Records Management Systems (RMS).Knowledge of EPR FireWorks preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel, and Power BI.Experience developing and analyzing reports for administrative and operational purposes.Responsibilities
Installs, configures, modifies, maintains, and troubleshoots the Fire Division's RMS and associated systems.Serves as administrator for RMS, establishing user access and permissions for Fire Division and VFD staff.Develops statistical and analytical reports using Microsoft tools for use in grants, promotions, GIS, performance tracking, and call data analysis.Provides operational and statistical data to VFD Chiefs, Fire Commission members, and administrative staff upon request.Conducts quality assurance reviews of fire and EMS reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.Serves as secretary to the Forsyth County Fire Commission, preparing agendas, minutes, and maintaining commission records.Performs system analysis, database development, and user support for the Fire Division's Document Management System.Coordinates software updates, security patches, and vendor support as needed.Performs other related duties as assigned.J-18808-Ljbffr
