Accounts Payable Specialist
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the accounts payable function efficiently and accurately, ensuring the timely processing of invoices. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and process approximately 200-300 invoices per week accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verify that invoices have appropriate approvals and support documentation.
- Resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal departments as needed.
- Maintain vendor accounts, including setup, maintenance, and updates.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment to vendors, while maximizing discounts and minimizing overdue payments.
- Reconcile vendor statement of accounts to AP Aging Report.
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in audits and provide documentation and support as needed.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in accounting and journal entry.Experience in accounts payable and invoice processing, including two and three way matching.Strong vendor management skills and purchase order processing.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic pivot tables / vlookups.2+ years of experience with an ERP such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, Workday, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.Additional Skills & Qualifications
2+ years of experience with accounts payable.2+ years of experience with vendor maintenance.Work Environment
This role is based at the corporate headquarters in West Chester, PA, within the AP team consisting of 3 specialists and 4 people for cash disbursements. The work schedule includes three days onsite (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) and two remote days. The environment is blue-collar / old-school manufacturing, requiring the ability to operate in a fast-paced, direct, and dynamic setting. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00 / hr.
