Department Details

This position supports our Orthopedic & Eye Surgical Services prep center. The RN will review patient requirements for surgery, conduct phone interviews, and collaborate with anesthesia services to ensure patients are optimized for surgery. Flexibility exists for start times, ranging from 07 : 00 to 09 : 00 am, and shifts are Monday through Friday. Days off during the week may vary.

This is an in-person position located at our South University Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Job Summary

The RN Triage Specialist is responsible for :

• Assessing patient symptoms and medical needs via telephone triage according to established algorithms.
• Guiding patients to the appropriate level of care and scheduling appointments with healthcare providers and specialists.
• Documenting information provided to patients in health record systems for follow-up care.
• Maintaining and developing triage protocols to ensure timely updates of patients' healthcare information.
• Utilizing various technologies to answer patient inquiries and educating them based on their calls.
