How you'll contribute
A Security Officer who excels in this role :
Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential / actual security threats.
Investigate and manage all security incidents and hazards on the premises.
Maintains knowledge of and follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency / disaster preparedness plans. Facilitates planned drills and simulations.
Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote their safety on the premises.
Patrols hospital premises to prevent fires, theft, vandalism and intruders.
Participates in investigations and maintains reports and documents related to security activities.
Controls parking and traffic flow.
Enforces parking regulations.
Maintains departmental records, reports and files as required by supervisor.
Works to assure safety of patients, visitors, staff and property.
Works proactively to prevent theft and vandalism.
Work may involve high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations which requires range of safety precautions.
Works with potentially unpredictable individuals require teamwork and communication with other security officers and staff are critical.
Physical interaction with such individuals requires strength, stamina, flexibility and critical thinking.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Additional requirements include :
Handle With Care within 3 months of hire or transfer into the position.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
