Position Summary
As an Automation Technician, you'll take on a role in troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of material handling systems. With advanced experience and expertise, you'll take on complex projects, develop training programs, and drive standardization initiatives. This role encompasses Mechanical, Controls, and the ability to learn rudimentary Software used to operate the Material handling system to ensure the system operates optimally.
Responsibilities
- Uses troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair mechanical problems.
- Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings.
- Create and review Standard Operating Procedure SOP documents.
- Follows preventive maintenance programs.
- Engage in troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technology integration.
- Conduct audits and inspections for compliance and quality assurance.
- Analyze performance data and identify process optimization opportunities.
- Comply with all requirements of Daifuku's policies and procedures.
- Conducts Allen Bradley (AB) PLC control-level issue diagnosis using ladder logic and Control View HMI.
- Executes PLC ladder code changes using Rockwell RSLogix family IDE's (5000 preferred).
- Utilizes AutoCAD proficiently for reviewing, developing, and maintaining electrical schematic and conveyor layout drawings.
- Documents and communicates control system and equipment configuration changes.
- On-call availability as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; prefer a 2-year professional electrical training degree or bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.Minimum of 4 years of experience in Allen Bradley (AB) PLC control-level issue diagnosis using ladder logic and Control View HMI.3-4 years working in material handling industry or equivalent industry experienceAdvanced experience with CMMS platform and PLC's, with basic Software knowledgeMinimum 3 years' experience with material handling technology.At least 3 years of experience with AutoCAD for control layout design and schematics.Working knowledge of handheld and power toolsAdvanced knowledge of PLCs and motor controlAdvanced ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls defectsAdvanced ability to interpret both mechanical and electric drawings and schematicsAbility to maintain and troubleshoot all material handling equipment and componentsSelf-motivated, organized and detail-orientedKnowledge of safe industrial work practicesStrong verbal and written communication skillsCustomer service orientationAbility to Lead, teach, and contribute to a team settingAdvanced computer skills including MS OfficeMust be able to speak, read and understand the English languageJ-18808-Ljbffr
