Summary
The Quality Control driver is responsible for inspecting vehicles after all repairs are finished in the shop. Their goal is to ensure the Service Department provides high-quality repairs to customers' vehicles. The inspector must confirm that all new and used trucks' repairs and concerns are addressed within the approved estimate and also check the vehicle's presentation and cleanliness.
Essential Duties :
Reviews work order and notes from MVASIST to confirm which repairs were performed on the vehicle.
Performs a walk around the vehicle to make sure there are no loose items, grease stains, scratches, or damaged components.
Inspects repairs performed to make sure OEM guidelines have been followed.
Inspects for loose wiring, clamps, and hoses around the area of repair.
Confirms all parts listed have been installed.
Makes sure there are no active fault codes related to the repairs performed, if other active codes are present. The inspector needs to review the MVASIST case to ensure the shop foreman was informed and the customer is aware of the situation.
Takes the unit for a road test to make sure no faults or issues are found.
Rechecks for leaks, codes, or any other issues…etc.
Records the parking location of the unit.
Enters cases in ASIST and make sure there is CBR case open, Eaton, Wabco, Cummins, Tech support cases, all cores returned. If repairs are covered under warranty, Inspector needs to make sure parts are tagged.
Ensures location codes are in MVASIST if Electrical / Air repairs are done.
Completes the checklist, signs off on it, and attaches it to the case.
Communicates with the shop foreman when issues are found during quality control inspection.
Other duties as assigned.

Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Use of arms in a raised position above shoulder level for prolong periods of time. Use of creeper or rolling device to enable tech to work underneath vehicle.
The employee is frequently required to perform various physical activities, including walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing.
Entry or exit from the cab of the vehicle (from ground to cab, avg. 47.5 inches - 2 steps).
Climb to a safe position to access the engine compartment area, firewall, or roof.
The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move more than 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Skills and Qualifications :
Valid CDL Driver’s License
DOT physical and resulting Medical Examiner’s Certificate required
Must have a clean MVR
2 years of related experience and / or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mack and Volvo Master Certified preferred
Cummins Engine Repair Certification is a plus
Basic computer skills
2 years of related experience and / or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
