Network and Communications -Field Technician Level III (Senior)

ActioNet is seeking a highly skilled Network and Communications Field Technician (Field Technician III) to lead the execution and oversight of structured cabling and wireless networking projects across commercial and Department of Defense (DoD) environments. This senior-level field role requires 4+ years of hands-on experience in network infrastructure installation, project leadership, and technical troubleshooting.

Travel up to 20% is required. Eligibility to work on secure DoD facilities is mandatory. A U.S. government security clearance sponsorship is available.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the installation and validation of structured cabling (CAT5e / CAT6) and wireless network systems.
• Act as the technical lead during field deployments, managing site readiness and coordinating logistics.
• Provide expert guidance on the installation and configuration of switches, routers, patch panels, and wireless access points.
• Lead wireless site surveys and contribute to access point placement strategies.
• Mentor and supervise Field Technicians II and III, assigning tasks and supporting professional growth.
• Serve as the main field point of contact for clients, leading progress updates and walk-throughs.
• Review and finalize as-built documentation, test reports, cable maps, and security records.
• Enforce safety practices on-site, ensuring proper PPE usage and operational risk controls.
