The USC School of Architecture is seeking a Creative Content Manager who will plan and create multimedia and digital content projects. The role requires expertise in current online and media content communications platforms, including websites, art and graphic design, media content and production skills, and maintenance of all websites and digital media platforms. The position will manage the school’s website content strategy and support all digital communications and multimedia platforms.

The Creative Content Manager will work with the Communications & Marketing team to plan, strategize and prioritize content, messaging, design and digital campaigns to promote the school. This is an exciting time to join as the school completes a strategic planning effort including a new website and new initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, produce and deliver narrative, multimedia and creative content.
  • Plan, design and coordinate content creation activities within deadlines.
  • Manage the pipeline of multimedia content creation and uploading to websites and other platforms.
  • Consult with faculty and staff to design, develop and implement webpages and interactive information delivery systems; advise on production and design techniques for website development.
  • Maintain and modify the school website including content, graphics and multimedia displays; gather feedback for improvement.
  • Test and maintain links; monitor website consistency and compliance with university standards.
  • Conduct electronic marketing of services and information; disseminate information to web search engines as needed.
  • Develop systems to track, analyze and report on website activity; knowledge of Google Analytics and data reporting; analyze data for trends and present results.
  • Coordinate email usage for website communications; maintain records and generate reports on email activity.
  • Design new website pages and content to maximize accessibility, usability and effectiveness; optimize content for search.
  • Assist in selecting web hosting providers and overall web infrastructure design as needed.
  • Responsible for videotaping school lecture series and events; conduct post-production and upload videos to the school’s media platforms.
  • Occasional evening / weekend work may be required.

Knowledge And Functional Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of video and audio production procedures, equipment and terminology.
  • Experience with digital video / audio capture, lighting, post-production software and file management.
  • Strong storytelling and narrative design skills; competence in digital content production.
  • Experience in digital content creation, delivery and user engagement across multiple platforms; ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in interactive content development and implementation.
  • Full stack website management (front and back-end); knowledge of UX, analytics and traffic metrics.
  • Knowledge of digital ad campaigns; familiarity with NodeJS, ExpressJS, Angular and Google Firebase; experience with web scripting and programming languages; open source technologies; secure transactions.

    Education, Experience and Skills

  • Minimum Education : Bachelor’s degree; combined experience / education as substitute for minimum education considered.
  • Minimum Experience : 2 years in relevant web and content roles.
  • Minimum Field of Expertise : Web page design, web site management, web graphic design; web programming techniques and protocols; knowledge of multiple operating systems.

    Compensation

    Hourly rate range : $38.37 - $41.65. Offers consider scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, internal alignment, and applicable laws and market conditions.
