Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Anesthesia Assessment : Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical exams, to develop individualized anesthesia care plans.
- Anesthesia Administration : Administer anesthesia during surgical, obstetrical, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Monitoring and Management : Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and responses to anesthesia, making necessary adjustments to maintain stability.
- Post-Anesthesia Care : Provide follow-up care and evaluation after anesthesia, ensuring patients recover safely and effectively.
- Pain Management : Implement acute and chronic pain management strategies, including the administration of analgesics and other medications.
- Emergency Response : Manage emergency situations by assessing and stabilizing patients, including airway management and administering emergency medications.
Qualifications
Education : Must be a graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program and hold a master's or doctoral degree in nurse anesthesia.Certification : Must be certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.Licensure : Must hold a valid nursing license and meet state-specific requirements for CRNAs.Work Environment
