Overview :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our client's accounting team on a temp-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cost accounting, general ledger functions, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial data, supporting month-end close activities, and assisting management with meaningful financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform daily accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines and accuracy are met.

Prepare and analyze financial statements, supporting schedules, and variance reports.

Support cost accounting processes, including inventory valuation, work-in-progress tracking, and standard cost updates.

Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions and assist in cycle counts or physical inventory audits.

Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure proper accounting for materials, labor, and overhead.

Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as needed.

Support internal controls and ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.

Provide support for audits and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP / accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar).

Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.

Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
