Summary : The Leader in Training (LIT) and Floor Leader position's primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement : "To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests." The LIT and Floor Leader performs a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Works directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Teammates and provide leadership.
Responsibilities
- Sales Generation and Guest Service : Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude; provide legendary service; answer questions; recommend and locate merchandise based on Guest needs; anticipate and fulfill Guest needs; demonstrate product knowledge; maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payments and exchanges, and security practices; achieve personal sales goals; provide service in the Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and the register area.
- Guest Relations and Showmanship : Build and maintain Guest relationships; lead by example with showmanship and attentive service; communicate Guest levels to the team; use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) to accomplish goals.
- Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development : Recognize recruiting opportunities; develop and lead Teammates to meet Buckle standards; maintain a positive floor culture; participate in training and performance tracking; motivate teammates to complete daily tasks; coach and influence denim showmanship and fit cards.
- Visual Merchandise Management : Own and influence product through zone ownership; manage product knowledge, placement, and lifecycle; ensure Teammates follow Visual Standards and checklists; demonstrate and apply new tools and merchandising practices; give store tours and manage freight displays.
- Operations : Maintain flexible scheduling; complete Opening / Closing Checklists; monitor security risks and Loss Prevention; execute POS procedures; handle policy-related inquiries and returns / exchanges; maintain a clean, organized store; follow Buckle policies and standards.
- Supervisory and Leadership : Provide and receive feedback; support Leadership; promote personal and store growth; maintain professional relationships with Teammates; contribute to a positive team culture.
- Other Duties : Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related retail experience and / or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and key shopping periods (e.g., Thanksgiving and Christmas).Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to lead by example and coach Teammates.Basic knowledge of store operations, POS procedures, and loss prevention practices; ability to navigate store tools and databases.Benefits
