Job Description : Scheduling Manager
Position Description :
The Scheduling Manager leads and manages the scheduling function on assigned projects. This role is responsible for developing, monitoring, and overseeing schedules for large, complex construction projects. The Scheduling Manager works closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that project milestones are met, risks are identified, and corrective actions are implemented to keep projects on track.
Reports to : Project Executive or Project Director
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, update, and maintain project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
Provide input on project sequencing, duration, and resource allocation to ensure realistic schedules.
Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure schedule accuracy.
Monitor schedule performance, perform variance analysis, and report findings to project leadership.
Identify and communicate schedule risks ; recommend and implement recovery strategies.
Lead regular schedule review meetings with project stakeholders.
Ensure schedules are in compliance with contract requirements and accurately reflect project status.
Prepare schedule-related reports for clients, executives, and other stakeholders.
Mentor and guide project staff, field engineers, and assistant schedulers in scheduling best practices.
Support claims analysis and documentation in case of schedule delays or disputes.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 7-10 years of scheduling experience in construction, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role .
Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing across multiple sectors (commercial, healthcare, infrastructure, etc.).
Proficiency with Primavera P6 (required); MS Project and other scheduling software a plus.
Understanding of cost and resource loading , earned value analysis, and critical path method (CPM).
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work with project teams, subcontractors, and owners to achieve alignment on scheduling goals.
Work Environment
Combination of office and construction site environment.
May require visits to project sites for coordination, schedule validation, and progress tracking.
Exposure to construction site conditions, including noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
