The employment consultant provides a variety of community-based employment services to individuals with disabilities seeking to become employed, advance within their current position, or reenter employment.

Primary Duties

• Provide job exploration counseling by providing the career scope, (a standardized, timed interest and aptitude assessment for education and career guidance) and generate a report summarizing each assessment result.
• Build and maintain professional and productive relationships with participants, members of participants support network, and funding / referral sources providing ongoing communication, soliciting input, requesting satisfaction surveys and providing thorough documented reports.
• Develop relationships with current and potential employers resulting in knowledge of current employment, assessment, and training opportunities for participants.
• Maintain files according to policy and procedures to ensure consistent standards are met for regulatory entities.
• Develop, implement, and document individualized service plans for individuals to include skills training, pre-employment training, situational assessments, job development, job coaching, and long-term support for both competitive and supported employment.
