About The Position

Must-Have : 2 years of experience in specialty, no first-time travelers

Description :

Unit consists of 29 beds, located on the 7th floor with outpatient services.

Travelers will only work on the inpatient floor.

Required nurse to patient ratios are 1 : 5, occasionally 1 : 6.

Central monitoring is available, but reading strips is not mandatory.

Charge Nurse responsibilities fall outside the staffing grid, except under unusual circumstances.

Nurse Aides are generally available, with three working per day.

Weekend work is required every other weekend.

Holiday shifts rotate among staff members.

Scrub color is Caribbean Blue.

Common diagnoses include acute oncology symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, and end-of-life care.

Patients from the outpatient area may come to the floor to complete treatments as needed.

Floating to medical acute areas occurs rarely.

Floor-specific orientation will be three days.

Charting system in use is MEDITECH - 6.1.
