Job Title : Fitter / Fabricator

Job Description

The Fitter / Fabricator is responsible for laying out, fitting, aligning, and assembling prefabricated cast and forged components before welding, soldering, brazing, or bonding operations. This role involves performing various fitting and machining operations such as straightening, grinding, burring, drilling, reaming, and countersinking materials to close tolerances. The position requires selecting equipment, setting up, and laying out materials based on general instructions. Additionally, the Fitter / Fabricator may repair or rework parts to restore them to required tolerances that have become distorted due to welding operations and may also monitor and verify quality according to statistical process or other control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, align, and assemble prefabricated cast and forged components.
• Perform fitting and machining operations including straightening, grinding, burring, drilling, reaming, and countersinking materials to close tolerances.
• Select equipment, set up, and lay out materials according to general instructions.
• Repair or rework parts to restore them to required tolerances after welding operations.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Work Environment

The position is based in a shop environment at a newly acquired facility in Charleston / Goose Creek. There are multiple shifts available, including 20 positions on the first shift and 6 positions on the second shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Goose Creek, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.08 - $44.18 / hr.
