Integrated Waste Management Operator II
James Madison University's Facilities Management Department is accepting applications for Integrated Waste Management Operator II in the Recycling Department. The shift is Monday Friday, 6 : 30 a.m to 3 : 00 p.m with an altered schedule during the summer plus overtime.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Follows pre-established route for pick up of recyclable materials, reusable materials, and rubbish from various locations on campus.
- Transports materials to various recycling facilities.
- Maintains fluids in equipment and vehicles in operating order.
- Maintains appropriate records.
- Employee is required to work all home football games.
- The employee in this position will be considered designated, meaning the work performed is essential to university operations and the employee will be required to work during periods of authorized closings.
Qualifications :
Ability to maneuver manual and automatic transmissions, step vans, 1.5-ton box trucks, moving vans, rear-load packer trucks, and alternatively fueled vehicles in close quarters.Ability to maintain and lubricate equipment.Ability to operate trash compactors, rear-load packer truck compactors, hopper feeders, cardboard balers, forklifts, and conveyor belts.Demonstrated ability to lift 30 80 pounds repeatedly throughout shift with or without an accommodation.Ability to safely operate vehicles.Work independently and provide excellent customer service.Ability to distinguish between and sort different grades of recyclables, trash, and other items that could contain blood-borne pathogens.Applicants must be at least 19 years old and possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 24 consecutive months.Must possess a valid CDL Class B Driver's License upon hire.Additional Posting Information :
