Presbyterian is seeking an Infusion Nurse. Infusion Therapy is a lifeline for many patients managing chronic conditions, and in New Mexico, infusion nurses play a vital role in delivering this care with precision and empathy. Whether you're in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, or Las Cruces, infusion nurses are the unsung heroes of outpatient clinics, hospitals, and home health services. Come and join our team and administer IV therapy for chronic illnesses like rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.

New Mexico’s unique geography and rural communities mean access to specialized care can be limited. Infusion nurses bridge that gap.

This position is eligible for the Northern New Mexico differential of $4.00 per hour. (This differential may be adjusted or discontinued based on business requirements.)

Responsibilities

provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses

coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient / family and healthcare team

performs assessments as per unit standards and documents on appropriate database / assessment flow sheet

initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care

administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy

identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout episode of care

evaluates patient progression toward outcomes per unit standards and documents through EOSS

performs competently in emergency situations

delegates or assigns aspects of patient care to healthcare team members commensurate with their validated competency to perform the task

assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel

provides leadership through communication about and validation of patient care

assists with various procedures, treatments, surgical techniques or assigns to other healthcare team members as appropriate

completes patient population / age-specific / procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards

demonstrates competency in required psychomotor skills

assists in orientation of new staff or students and serves as a resource person and professional role model

assumes professional responsibility for current nursing structure and clinical standards of care

incorporates PHS mission (VVPS) in caregiving activities

supports DON philosophies of shared governance and models of care delivery

assumes other leadership roles (e.g., relief charge nurse) as required by the department

meets professional requirements including age-specific training, mandatory yearly inservices, and documentation of continuing education

participates in unit / department governance and quality improvement activities

maintains positive communication and relationships with patients, peers, and other healthcare team members

adheres to PHS dress code and safety / equipment policies

maintains punctual and reliable attendance record

Qualifications

ADN / BSN / MSN

NM State or Multistate License

BLS Requires at Time of Hire
