Overview

Adams 12 Five Star Schools is seeking a Paraeducator for a replacement – permanent / regular position in Thornton, CO. Grade : G7; Hourly range $20.27-$24.99; Standard hours per week : 34; FTE 0.85; Months per year : 9; Location : Thornton, CO. This role supports students in Specialized Programs with specialized instruction, behavioral monitoring, and assistance with health and hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support in general education settings to enable student participation; tutor, adapt work, monitor and enforce social and acceptable behavior; assist with assessments and related paperwork; implement specialized therapy programs and work with therapists on IEPs.
  • Assist students with daily routines, including getting to / from class and bus stops, hygiene, medical needs, including working with tracheostomy, feeding tubes, and catheterization; support behavior plan implementation.
  • Sanitize and maintain a clean learning environment including handling bodily fluids as needed.
  • Facilitate speech and language development using alternative communication systems (e.g., sign language, assistive technology).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work with students with significant needs (training provided).
  • Criminal background check required; ability to complete pre-hire / post-offer physical examination.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
  • Universal Precautions training within 3 months of entering position.
  • CPI / Safety Care training within 3 months of entering position.

    All Classified positions are paid hourly. New hires start at Step 1; advancement up to Step 8 based on experience.
