Patient Access Service Representative

The Patient Access Service Representative plays a key role in supporting patient care by ensuring a smooth and accurate registration and admission process. This position serves as a vital point of contact for patients and caregivers, helping to verify information, address questions, and coordinate communication between departments to support timely and accurate care.

Responsibilities include :

  • Meeting with patients or their caregivers to exchange necessary information and documentation, providing clear explanations of the registration process and addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Communicating with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to exchange information and determine patient placement.
  • Verifying insurance benefits, obtaining pre-certifications and authorizations, and ensuring verification of medical necessity as required.
  • Determining and accepting required payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance, or referring patients to financial counselors for follow-up as appropriate.
  • Ensuring all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is accurately entered into the registration system in a timely manner.
