Job Title : Internal Communications Specialist II

Location : South San Francisco, CA (1 DNA Way, 94080)

Working Model : Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

Contract : 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Schedule : Monday–Friday

Start : 1–2 Weeks

Pay : $56 / hr - $58 / hr (W2)

About the Role :

BCforward is seeking an experienced Internal Communications Specialist II to support Genentech’s Research and Early Development (gRED) Business Operations & Communications team. You’ll translate business strategies into clear messaging, create engaging internal content, and lead initiatives that shape culture, drive alignment, and boost employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and execute internal communication strategies and campaigns

Create content for announcements, newsletters, presentations, and digital channels

Manage intranet content, editorial calendars, and messaging cadence

Plan and support employee meetings, town halls, and events

Produce surveys and metrics reports to measure communication impact

Ensure consistent branding and messaging across internal channels

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree required

5–8 years of communications experience (biotech, pharma, or healthcare preferred)

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills

Experience with Adobe Suite, Google Suite, Slack, WordPress, and Poppulo

Proven ability to manage complex projects and deadlines

Strong collaboration, presentation, and change management communication skills
