A typical day for a RIDE Pre-K Teacher's Assistant will include :
Working as a team with the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, healthy, structured, welcoming space to grow and learn.Singing, dancing, playing, teaching!Inspiring children to be lifelong learners.Partnering with families to nurture and care for their children.Showcasing your tech savvy skills by using an electronic daily tracking app.Assisting with the accreditation process as well as other quality initiatives.Why you'll love us :

Our learning centers are open between the hours of 7 : 00 a.m. – 5 : 30 p.m., Monday - Friday. State Pre-K classroom hours may vary.
We have locations across Rhode Island.
Requirements :
We are willing to train the right person! Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience working with children in a group setting.
We are looking for someone who has the following skills :
A personal demeanor that is warm and friendly.Verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and reading skills.Reliable attendance and punctuality.Organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.Team-oriented and willing to work with others.Education Requirements
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.Must meet state Pre-K education requirements which is 12 College Credits in Early Childhood Education. Some options include Teacher Assistant Training Program approved by the RI Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, college coursework relevant to the early childhood education program, Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, or college credits in Education, Child Development, Human Services, Recreation or related field.Certifications / Experience
At least 1 year working in an early learning / child care center.Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS) certification preferred.Knowledge of Teaching Strategies and / or Conscious Discipline preferred.CPR / First Aid certification preferred.Physical Requirements
Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting).Visual and hearing acuity.Able to lift up to 40 pounds.Other Qualifications
18 years of age or olderAble to read, write, speak and understand English, bilingual encouraged to apply.Must pass national criminal background / fingerprints check.Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).We hope you will join our team!
