Title : Sterile Processing Technician - Contract
Location : Denver, CO
Job Details :
- Travel- $20 / hr + $750 Stipend ($1,550 gross weekly)
- Local- $37 / hr ($1,480 gross weekly)
- 40 Hours per week
- M - F, 8a-4p OR 9a-5p
- 8 - 10 weeks (through December 30, 2025 with potential to extend)
Description of job :
Sterile processing technicians manage the complete cycle of medical and surgical instruments and equipment. This includes cleaning, sterilizing, and packaging used supplies, organizing them into procedure-specific trays, and distributing them to operating rooms and other hospital departments. The technician works closely with other healthcare staff but has minimal-to-no direct patient contact. This person will be helping us out in our Central Medical Supply / Sterile Processing Department. This person will sterilize medical instruments 2 days a week (table top) - only Dental, Podiatry, and Dermatology instruments. The other hours they will be assisting with medical supply orders (filling orders requested by the team and inventory and other duties in this department).
Qualifications :
Sterile Processing Certification Required1 year experience minimumResponsibilities :
Decontamination : Receive contaminated items, manually clean them to remove biohazardous materials, and operate decontamination equipment like washer-disinfectors and ultrasonic cleaners.Inspection and Assembly : Meticulously inspect each item for cleanliness and proper function. Reassemble complex instruments and prepare them into surgical trays according to detailed count sheets and surgeon preferences.Sterilization : Package instruments and load them into sterilization equipment, such as steam autoclaves, to kill all microorganisms. Monitor the sterilization process to ensure quality and consistency.Inventory Management : Keep accurate records of all reprocessed instruments and supplies. Manage inventory levels, track distribution, and help with restocking and ordering.Distribution : Prepare and deliver sterilized supplies, instruments, and case carts to various hospital departments, such as the operating room, intensive care unit, and emergency department.Quality Control and Compliance : Perform quality assurance tests, record sterilizer test results, and follow strict infection control and safety standards.
