Position Summary

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the timely and efficient cleaning, drying, folding, and storage of all hotel linens and guest laundry. This role ensures high standards of cleanliness and quality are maintained to support a positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Sort linens and treat stains using proper techniques and chemicals.
  • Fold, stack, and organize laundered items by type (e.g., towels, sheets, uniforms).
  • Ensure proper inventory levels of linen and communicate shortages or damage to the supervisor.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report any maintenance issues immediately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room and storage areas.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures in accordance with hotel policies and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in laundry pick-up and delivery as needed.
  • Provide guest laundry service (if applicable), ensuring timely and professional handling.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior laundry or housekeeping experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

    • Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, bending, stooping, and repetitive motion for extended periods.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, heat, humidity, and noise typical of a laundry environment.

    • Work Environment

    This role is performed in a hotel laundry facility. It may involve working with industrial-grade equipment, handling soiled linens, and standing for most of the shift.
