POSITION SUMMARY :

The Dem-Con Trucking truck driver position is responsible for driving trucks or tractor-trailers for collection services to ensure our customers’ expectations are met in transporting or disposing various materials to the appropriate location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Operates heavy duty commercial trucks and tractor-trailers
• Performs required pre-trip & post trip inspections and provides required reports
• Provides outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
• Maintains all required certifications required by DOT
• Adheres to all OSHA and company safety programs
• Maintains and protects all property
• Informs on-duty mechanic of any maintenance issues with equipment and / or vehicles
• Maintains various records and / or logs as needed per DOT regulations
• Fuels truck at the end of each workday
• Operates front end loader / skid steer on as needed basis
• Aids in keeping Customer location and / or facility clean by picking up litter around site
• Communicates effectively with management, dispatch and all division employees
• Performs other related duties as assigned

WORK CONDITIONS

Outdoor environment; exposure to extreme weather conditions; work with and around heavy machinery; exposure to dust and fumes from motorized equipment; exposure to noise, odors and gases; exposure to heavy traffic conditions, possible exposure to toxic chemicals.

The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
