The Propulsion system component Design System Engineer is responsible for the delivery of the mechatronic hardware solution for all so-equipped applications. Technical lead for EDS team which are responsible for the design, development, validation, and release of propulsion system hardware. They are responsible for electrified component during all phases of development and production. Design release experience is highly recommended.

The objective is to ensure the timeliness and quality of the components required to fulfill the propulsion system technical specification. The candidate must be a strong leader, energetic, team oriented, and willing to work in fast paced environment.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to :

  • Lead components project kickoff discussions - deliverables, timing, scope, milestones
  • Requirements negotiations / trade off analysis with Propulsion System CE
  • Support the component DREs in meeting the program objectives in terms of timing, performances, efficiency, validation, system integration, quality, reliability, manufacturing, serviceability, etc.
  • Lead the development of component focused electrical architecture according to the vehicle architecture
  • Lead the development of component focused Mechanical integration according to vehicle functional objective
  • Lead the coordination for hardware clean point with software teams (at STLA and / or component supplier) to ensure software deliverable for the given milestone is met in timely manner
  • Coordination and implementation with the cross functional teams and component COEs for components related issue closure and risk management
  • Support the generation of component status decks for PR, MR milestones to support technical decisions related the assigned components
  • Alignment of IAA, CN, DFMEA, and DVPR documents
  • Communication to senior leadership
  • Support cost and timing for bulletin and study process
  • Support cost reduction activities for components
  • Support the technical reviews / evaluations and technical specification sign-offs (Critical Design Reviews); ensure best practices and lesson learned application
