Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong trauma and robotics experience for a hospital-based position in Alabama requiring an active AL or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital operating room setting with 15 OR beds, including 2 CVOR suitesLevel II Trauma Center with minimal pediatric cases, primarily orthopedicPatient care is 1 : 1 in the operating roomRN circulates only and covers a wide variety of cases including general, trauma (no burns), orthopedic (including total joints and spine), neuro, ENT, vascular (including endovascular), GYN, urology, plastics, breasts, and eyesExperience with robotic surgeries, including Robotic Mazor and DaVinci XI, is preferredCerner EMR is used, with supporting technology including Plum 360 pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Spacelabs monitorsNo floating requiredOn-call required : one weekday and one weekend per month with 30-minute response timeWeekend rotation includes on-call responsibilitiesExpected to work at least one holiday per contractTwo-week orientation on day shift, including buddy callWork alongside a supportive team including OR assistants, desk assistant, charge nurse, and service line team leadersTwo-week orientation provided with expectation for buddy call participationScrub attire is green and provided by the facilityParking is available in a parking deckOn-site expectation for 30-minute call response timeHoliday coverage is required as part of the contractRequirements
Active AL or compact RN license requiredMinimum two years of recent operating room RN experience requiredStrong competency in trauma (excluding burns), neuro, ortho (total joints and spine), general, vascular, ENT, GYN, urology, plastics, and robotic proceduresCertification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) requiredExperience circulating in all listed service lines requiredRobotics experience preferredExperience with Cerner EMR preferredWill accept first-time travelers if all experience requirements are metPrevious permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a travelerMust reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facilityBenefits
