  • You are not required to report into a Mosaic office; however, this position could require travel ~25% of the time.
  • Geographic flexibility : This position is open to candidates residing anywhere in the US.

The Senior Consultant, Digital Experience (SCDE) is responsible for the analysis, design, development, and

evaluation of learning programs and curricula that provide Mosaic clients with the knowledge and skills

required to achieve desired business outcomes. In partnership with the project team and client, the SCDE is

focused on leveraging the integration of technologies to enhance the learning experience; advance innovative

teaching and learning initiatives across the curriculum; and ensure that equity and inclusion are rooted in these

learning experiences. The SCDE is responsible for continually innovating to advance and apply immersive and

non-traditional learning solutions which include virtual reality simulations, interactive video, gamification,

storytelling, and experiential design into Mosaics client solutions.

This individual will lead large teams and work closely with subject matter experts, consulting team members,

and other stakeholders. The SCDE will facilitate group and individual discussions to provide coaching on

performance and instructional design methodologies. This individual will coordinate with multiple stakeholders

to consult on best practices and coordinate editorial and quality control efforts. The SCDE may function as an

individual contributor, Project Manager, subject matter expert, or Strategic Advisor based on skill set, timing,

and client and project needs. The SCDE may participate in sales calls and / or RFP preparation.

Roles and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Senior Consultant, Digital Experience role are as follows :

Translate client experiential needs into actionable developer storyboards, incorporating data

capture and reporting requirements.

Design XR experiences for skill application and training in simulated environments.

Serve as the primary liaison between client SMEs, Sponsors, and Developers, managing timelines

and deliverables.

Coordinate and execute QA testing for XR content, documenting feedback and revisions.

Review XR content to ensure alignment with client and developer expectations.

Assist with implementing XR products into the LMS and building initial reporting structures.

Use design documents and storyboards to create digital course content using ADDIE, SAM, or

other instructional design methodologies leveraged by Mosaic as appropriate for client

engagement.

Prepare and lead design sessions with clients and Subject Matter Experts (SME), both in person

and virtual.

Identify the criteria used to assess learners performance and develop assessment and

measurement instruments.

Create Digital learning experiences that resonate across diverse audiences.

Study source material and conduct additional research to fully understand learning content needed

for the clients solution.

Drafts solution outline, concept descriptions, learning content overviews, and other explanatory

documents to confirm the clients solution prior to storyboarding.

Create and / or creation of extensive storyboards for the intended learning solution, which includes

user interface components, detailed instructions on modeling and image development, and specific

directions for third-party developers.

Review models, functional versions of solutions, and other developed components to ensure

integrity and consistency with intended design.

Communicate vision and details of solution to third-party development partner throughout the

design, development, and delivery phases.

Strive for continuous improvement of awareness and understanding of modern and trendy methods

of using XR and other immersive learning technology.

Advocate for the potential learner as a user of the intended technology solution, including designing

components for effective user interface, and improving user experience.

Partner with other Digital Learning team members to problem solve, brainstorm user experience

improvements, and connect development steps to client requirements.

Partner with Digital Learning leadership to ensure projects are executed in scope, on-time, and on

budget.

Support Quality Assurance team members to help them understand the learning solution and

effectively record feedback for improving development.

Apply traditional learning theories and design methods to modern tools and technology, including

virtual reality, augmented reality, and immersive environment-based experiences.

Attend and actively participate in a variety of status meetings and working sessions that span

across projects.

Willingness to attend meetings during non-traditional business hours to accommodate multiple time

zones.

Partner with Sr. Manager Client Delivery, Project Manager, Project Controller to ensure project is

on-time, on-budget, in scope.

Provide timely status reports to internal and external stakeholders as required.

Meet project deadlines through effective team management and proactively escalate any issues or

problem areas that may compromise deadlines.

May identify or develop new business opportunities.

May provide expertise in developing statements of work (SOW) and basis of estimate (BOE)

documents for new projects, and actively contribute to the creation of responses for requests for

proposals (RFPs).

Attain billable hours requirements.

Leadership and Coaching

Lead small- and large-scale multi-discipline teams to assess client needs; design and implement

approved solutions.

Guide teams in meeting project standards and specifications, mentoring them in training

development and consulting best practices.

Provide editorial peer review to ensure alignment with training best practices, editorial standards,

and project guidelines and specifications.

Support roll-on / roll-off of project team members.

Respond to Consultant concerns, resolve issues, and provide support as required.

Provide timely and effective coaching and performance feedback to team members and is viewed

as a trusted resource by the team and client.

Consulting

Effectively consult with client to determine root issues and gaps in employee performance and

current business processes that can be addressed through Mosaics suite of solutions.

Facilitate workshops or interviews with client stakeholders and subject matter experts to generate

business cases.

Effectively build relationships with key clients and stakeholders to influence program- and projectlevel direction.

Facilitate meetings and participate in working sessions with clients; communicate best practices to

the client to aid in decision-making.

Quality Assurance

Apply appropriate levels of edits and feedback on deliverables to ensure that ideas are clearly

communicated, visually laid out well, instructionally sound, correctly formatted, and presented in an

appropriate voice.

Develop, customize, and troubleshoot templates; develops style guides, editing checklists, and

other standards for the team.

To effectively respond to client and project needs, role and responsibilities will vary and may include

additional responsibilities not listed.

Skills and Experience

Instructional design background with expertise in adult learning theory, learning styles, and learner

needs.

Ability to incorporate the most effective, leading-edge digital instructional design approaches while

staying within allocated budget and timeline.

Demonstrated ability for learning and applying innovative technologies while understanding

complex technical material.

Experience applying non-traditional methods of learning design, including gamification, storytelling,

and human-centered design to create highly effective training programs.

Experience facilitating design sessions and drafting complex storyboards as an output of

discussions with team members and client stakeholders.

Strong proficiency in writing, editing, and grammatical skills.

Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects for multiple clients and manage time and

priorities of team members across multiple projects.

Effective communication skills including timely follow-up with internal and external clients.

Ability to partner with clients, vendors, and project teams to create trusting work relationships.

Strong familiarity with experiential environments, both virtual reality and augmented reality is

desired.

Strong knowledge of tools used for developing XR / VR / AR experiences is desired but not required.

Strong awareness of the hardware (headsets) used to consume / experience XR / VR / AR.

Advanced experience in training consulting or managing training projects.

Proven ability to independently manage small- and large-scale project teams and client

relationships.

Experience working on project teams in a consultative environment with clients.

Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to lead and influence teams and

clients.

Ability to navigate complex and ambiguous situations using advanced interpersonal,

communication, and time management skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Education

Minimum of a bachelors degree in Education, Instructional Design, Communications, English, Business, or a

related field or equivalent experience preferred.

The compensation range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making hiring and compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to candidate skill set, consulting experience, training and education, competencies, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Mosaic strives to set salaries at, or near the 50th percentile (midpoint) of the range and it is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range for the position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $125k - 145k annually. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program of up to 6% of annual compensation. The bonus program is dependent on a variety of factors including organizational and individual performance.
