Hours : Monday - Friday 5 : 00 am to 1 : 30 pm

Pay Rate : $22.81 / hr

Location : Urbana, Ohio 43078

Experience : at least 3 years of experience as a Custodian within an Industrial facility

Job Summary :

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at an industrial facility. The Custodian will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency of the facility, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This position involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance activities that support a smooth workflow and adhere to health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities :

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned areas within the industrial facility.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming floors.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly, including managing hazardous waste when applicable.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed.
• Clean and polish fixtures and furniture.
• Dust all surfaces, including furniture, walls, machinery, and equipment.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and partitions using appropriate cleaning solutions.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and functionality of facility systems and equipment.
• Ensure safe use and proper storage of all cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Mix cleaning solutions and chemicals according to specifications and follow safety procedures for their use.
• Operate commercial cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of facilities for events and meetings.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines.
• Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies and order new supplies as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks and repairs, such as changing lightbulbs.
• Monitor building security and safety by locking doors after operating hours or checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Respond promptly to spills, emergencies, or urgent cleaning requests.
