American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele night shift position in a medical oncology unit, requiring an active OH or compact RN license and proficiency with telemetry monitoring.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital-based Med / Surg Tele unit with a specialty in medical oncologyCares for adult and geriatric oncology patients with solid tumors, including those undergoing chemotherapyPrimary diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, as well as patients receiving antineoplastic chemotherapyStaffing ratios target 1 : 4, but may be up to 1 : 5 based on unit needsNight shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19 : 00-07 : 30), with variable weekends as neededSelf-scheduling is available, finalized based on unit balancingFirst week orientation is Mon-Fri dayshift, followed by on-unit precepted orientationFloating required to other Med / Surg Oncology unitsUtilizes Epic for computerized chartingUnit provides comprehensive care for oncology patients from diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life supportHeavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall preventionFirst week consists of Monday to Friday dayshift orientation followed by precepted on-unit orientationHoliday coverage and variable weekend shifts are required based on unit needsAll RTO (requested time off) must be submitted up front and built into the contractLocals are accepted at the same pay rateFormer employees are eligible after a 6-month break in serviceCurrent employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are not eligible for travel positionsUrgent completion of Ohio fingerprinting is required after contract signing\n \n Requirements\n
