Since 1963, Sheakley has been a leader in safety management outsourcing. We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to oversee safety operations for our client in Leavenworth, KS. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive safety professional with a strong construction background to make a lasting impact on a high-profile federal project.
Position Details
Hourly Rate : $50 / hr
Per Diem : $125 / day (7 days per week)
Completion Bonus : $150 / month
Pay Frequency : Weekly
Schedule : 40 hours per week, with some weekend work
Project Scope
This project involves a federal penitentiary in Leavenworth, KS, scheduled for completion by April 2026. The scope includes 23 buildings on a 270-acre campus, covering :
Utility installation
Slab-on-grade concrete
MEP systems installation
Flooring, hardware, trim, doors, and paint
The Construction Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing all site safety operations throughout these phases.
Qualifications
OSHA 500 Certification
5+ years of construction safety experience
Competent in crane safety (strong plus)
Experience with government projects and compliance requirements (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
Support incident investigations, reporting, and corrective action implementation
Deliver safety training and orientation for employees, subcontractors, and new hires
Collaborate with project teams to proactively identify and mitigate safety risks
Maintain accurate safety performance, incident, and compliance documentation
Promote a safety-first culture across all project levels
