Palliative Medicine Physician Assistant Job Details

Location : Cumberland, MD 21502 (Western Maryland healthcare jobs)

Setting : Inpatient Palliative Care (hospital-based)

Assignment Type : Locum Tenens Physician Assistant (Travel / Contract)

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM (no weekends, no call)

Duration : 13-week contract (11 / 24 / 2025 – 2 / 23 / 2026)

Hours per Week : 40

Shifts : 8-hour day shifts

Estimated Weekly Pay : $4660 - $5000

Physician Assistant Qualifications

Active Physician Assistant license (IMLC required for multi-state practice)

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant; palliative care or hospice care experience preferred

Ability to commit to the full 13-week locum tenens assignment

Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient care skills

Dedication to delivering compassionate, patient-centered healthcare

Palliative Care Physician Assistant Responsibilities

Round on inpatients listed under the Palliative Care provider team

Respond promptly to new consults requested by hospital medicine teams

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans

Provide expert symptom management and emotional support to patients and their families

Accurately document patient encounters, assessments, and care plans in a timely manner
